What are the team roles?
Five team roles, plus two guest roles that apply to a single site.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including deleting the team and transferring ownership |
| Admin | Manage sites, members and billing. Not team deletion or ownership |
| Editor | View dashboards and change site settings. No people, no money |
| Billing | View dashboards and handle invoices and the plan. Nothing else |
| Viewer | Read dashboards. Changes nothing |
| Guest editor | One site: view it and change its settings |
| Guest viewer | One site: view it |
Team members are unlimited on every plan, so pick the right role rather than the cheap one - there’s no such thing as a cheap one here.
Some notes on the edges, because that’s where role systems break:
Guest roles sit outside the ranking. A guest isn’t “a viewer, but scoped”. They’re excluded from the ordering, so a check for “at least admin” can never accidentally let one through. How guests work.
Owner isn’t invitable. You can’t invite someone as owner - ownership moves through its own transfer workflow, on purpose, so an account can’t change hands by accident in an invitation email.
Billing exists for the person who pays and doesn’t care. Finance gets the invoices and the plan, and doesn’t have to be an admin of everything to get them.
An unrecognized role fails closed. No access, rather than some.
Change someone’s role under Settings → Members. To invite somebody new, it’s the same screen.
There’s no SSO or SAML today. The team settings page says so on screen rather than letting you hunt for it. When it lands it’ll be in every plan, like everything else here, rather than sold as an enterprise tier.
